About Me
Background
Hi, I’m Lilly Carr! I was born and raised in a small beach town in Massachusetts and moved to Tampa, Florida to attend the University of Tampa. I love traveling to different parts of the world and always dreamed of attending college in another state. Moving for school was exciting, though I didn’t know many people beforehand, but I’m so glad I took the leap. My senior year of high school was impacted by COVID restrictions, making it difficult to go on college tours. Fortunately, UTampa offered in-person tours, and after visiting, I knew it was the perfect fit for me. To get more involved, I joined Spartan Agency in my junior year. This club has allowed me to hone my digital marketing skills by creating and managing content for our social media accounts and clients. Taking on the role of Social Media Leader has pushed me out of my comfort zone, helping me gain confidence in digital marketing on platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram. Through this experience, I’ve learned to be a good team player, delegate tasks, and manage content schedules effectively.
My Passions
Travel
I have always loved traveling, meeting new people, and creating lasting memories with friends and family. In the summer of 2022, I studied abroad in Athens, Greece, where I made some of my best friends and immersed myself in a rich, historic culture. Traveling excites me, and I plan to explore as many parts of the world as I can. Travel agency marketing interests me.
Creativity
I love creating visuals for social media on Canva, as it allows me to express my creativity and experiment with different posting methods. I aspire to work in a role where I can channel my creativity into digital marketing, whether through posts or writing. I’m also eager to learn Adobe to further enhance my visual design and video editing skills.
Marketing
Marketing allows me to express my creativity and see the direct impact of my work. The variety keeps things exciting, and I enjoy connecting with different audiences. The field’s constant evolution offers endless learning opportunities, and the problem-solving aspect is very satisfying. There’s always a chance to learn new methods.
Ethical Code
Kindness
I believe kindness goes a long way in any situation and I want others to treat me kindly in the same way I’d want them to feel when I treat them. I think problems can be solved if people keep kindness in their minds. No one knows what everyones going through so its best to be nice no matter the circumstance.
Accountability
In groups, I think it’s important for everyone to do their part to achieve the best outcome possible by doing what they are supposed to be doing as well as helping when others need it. With this the project can be done efficiently and take into account everyones perspectives.
Inclusion
In groups, I think it’s crucial to foster inclusion by actively inviting and valuing diverse perspectives. This approach ensures that everyone feels respected and contributes to a more innovative and well-rounded outcome. Inclusion helps boost creative ideas if everyone feels valued.
Positivity
Positivity is about maintaining an optimistic and constructive attitude in all situations. By focusing on the good and encouraging others, we can create a more uplifting and productive environment. By acknowledging the negatives and learning from them we can avoid them in the future.
